In January 1884, Miss Kate Sessions replaced Mr. J.A. Rice as principal of Russ School. She served as assistant principal and a teacher as well. She later resigned and became world renowned in the field of Horticulture.

Dr. Aseltine’s tenure as Principal of San Diego High extended over a quarter century, from 1927-1954.
